[The German Air Force's masterpiece fighter that produced many aces]
More than 30,000 Messerschmitt Bf109 were produced as the main fighter of the German Air Force throughout World War II. Among them, the most manufactured type is the G-6, which appeared in February 1943. Equipped with a DB605 engine with a lift of 1,475 horsepower, the upper machine gun of the nose is strengthened from 7.92mm to 13mm. A bulge called "Boyle" was set up on the side of the nose to cover the fuselet discharge chute. Among the G-6s, the late production model adopts a different engine cowl and a canopy that reduces the window frame and improves visibility. In addition, a modified aircraft equipped with a 21-cm rocket launcher was also developed to intercept Allied heavy bombers. The G-6 continued to fight until the end of the war with many improvements.
